Hey everyone, we’re back with more updates! Thank you so much for your continued support for the Mecha Comet.
As you might already know, Mecha was at FOSDEM 2026 at Brussels presenting along with other projects from India as part of FOSS United (https://fossunited.org/). This was our first time at FOSDEM, we didn’t imagine the scale of it and couldn’t help getting overwhelmed with sheer number of folks in open-source attending.
Here are few glimpes of the buzz at our stand. A lot of people were surpised to see the Comet in-person🤩
Right after Day 1 at FOSDEM, we had our 1st ever Mecha Meetup 💥 later in the evening. We had a fun evening talking and showing our older iterations, how it evolved, the nitty-gritties in the design, and we ended up disassembling the new Comet right there. I am sure the Hotel staff didn't appreciate us converting their space into a Makerspace 🙃.
We gave a short notice (I am sorry about that 😢) but here are some clips recorded at the Meetup.
I personally had a great time, I am thankful for everyone that showed up - you folks choose to spend an evening listening to me yap for 2 hours, means the world to me.
We are busy preparing more demos videos, here are few new ones in better video quality. You can check them out here -
P.S - The external antenna is test-only right now, LTE will use internal antennas.
We’ve also added these to the usecases section on the campaign page and on our website.
We’ve added some answers to questions that kept coming up on the Comments and Discord, hope they help in giving some more clarity to you - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mecha-systems/mecha-comet-modular-linux-handheld-computer/faqs

That’s it for now! We have more updates coming in this week and next! See you in the next one 👋
